Fintastic News

July is Shark Month, and there has never been a better time to get to know these ancient and well-adapted titans of the sea! Scuba divers everywhere are invited to learn more about sharks and participate in their protection by taking the PADI AWARE Shark Conservation Specialty course.

This course explores the factors that make sharks particularly vulnerable to threats despite their power, and their role in ensuring a healthy and balanced ocean ecosystem. Learn about shark biology and how you can help protect these misunderstood creatures. Even more exciting? Just in time for World Oceans Day (June 8), PADI AWARE launched its brand-new Conservation Action Portal. This one-stop digital hub makes it simple to take real conservation action—whether you’re in a wetsuit or on Wi-Fi.

From signing petitions to tracking global impact on the interactive Impact Map, this new platform makes it easy to get involved. Use your PADI single sign-on to track your activities, earn badges and become part of the world’s largest underwater movement. And keep your eyes peeled—this summer the Global Shark & Ray Census is launching through the portal. So, gear up, get involved and help protect our ocean’s most iconic predators. Learn more and join the movement at padiaware.org.
