Renowned for its 24/7 shore diving, Bonaire has dozens of marked sites along its western lee coast. With Dive Friends, you can pick up and drop off tanks at any of their locations, which are found from the north to south side. The convenience is unmatched by any other island operator.
Dive Friends also takes guests on boat excursions to Klein Bonaire, which boasts unique and pristine sites thanks to less “dive traffic.” They offer a wide range of diving activities, including PADI courses that span from beginner to pro, guided shore dives, the Avelo system (see “Explore Further”), and the first and only PADI Distinctive Fish Spawning Specialty. Created with researchers from Roffa Reefs, this specialty allows you to be a citizen scientist. You’ll learn to recognize and document your fish spawning sightings anywhere in the world by submitting your findings in a database.

Avelo: A Game-Changer
Imagine a scuba set that’s much lighter and agile than your current one. That’s what the Avelo system delivers. Dive Friends Bonaire is the only Caribbean professional training center for the Avelo system. It works by maintaining a constant physical volume while varying its density to control buoyancy. Instead of using the BCD’s air pockets to descend and ascend, Avelo adds or removes water from the system.
