Women’s Dive Day with Divetech on Grand Cayman offers a chance to meet new people, connect with a compassionate community and, most of all, support the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation. In 2025, Divetech’s event raised $9,000—100% of which was donated to the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation, who provide free mammograms, ultrasounds, wellness programs, supports groups and patient assistance within the Cayman Islands.
The event draws divers from around the world—women and men—along with a strong local following. Snorkelers and supporters are welcome as well, all in the spirit of having fun for a good cause.

This past Women’s Dive Day, July 19, the main event was an underwater scavenger hunt—a shore dive where 90 pink, numbered rocks were hidden along the reef, each corresponding to a prize. Local businesses rallied in strong form, donating more than 200 prizes. Among them, more than 50 restaurants donated gift certificates, the local F45 gym gifted a monthly membership, and Cayman eFoil donated an introductory session.
Post-dive, the festivities continued. The ice bath challenge—daring participants to last three minutes in frigid water—offered a dopamine rush, lots of laughter and another fun way to get involved.
Plans for the next Women’s Dive Day, set for July 18, 2026, are already underway. Every year, the event draws more participants and delivers even more fun and surprises. It’s the perfect event for divers and ocean enthusiasts looking to celebrate the day in a big way. For mainland divers, it’s also a chance to explore a tropical destination and experience exceptional diving, all while supporting the fight against breast cancer.

Women’s Dive Day is just one of the many ways Divetech gives back. All year long, the company invests in the local community, offering free dive training to local youth and helping them develop a passion for the island’s reefs and marine life. Two graduates of the program have gone on to work as staff members with Divetech. It’s a cause that’s important to company owner Jo Mikutowicz, who believes that no matter where you dive in the world, part of the experience is seeing the island and underwater world through the eyes of locals—people who have spent their lives connecting with the destination.
Divetech also works with the Central Caribbean Marine Institute, which runs the Young Environmentalist Leader Course to help educate local kids in marine sciences and prepare them for careers in marine biology. Divetech provides training through the PADI Rescue Diver course, instilling the confidence students need to take on future research projects.
Of course, day in and day out, Divetech is known for its services as a detail-oriented PADI 5-Star scuba facility, offering recreational and technical instruction. The company runs daily dives from two locations: Cobalt Coast Grand Cayman Resort and Lighthouse Point, both in West Bay. Every boat dive is guided by an instructor, giving guests an added layer of safety, experience and local knowledge.

Located in West Bay and just minutes from Seven Mile Beach, Cobalt Coast is a newly renovated, luxury beachfront boutique resort with 16 fully updated rooms, catering to divers, snorkelers, and those seeking a peaceful island escape. The resort offers a range of accommodations that sleep two to six guests, including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, each thoughtfully designed with king or queen beds and either ocean or island views. Amenities include a PADI 5-Star dive shop, a private white sand beach, an oceanfront pool and hot tub, and the open-air Nova Bar & Restaurant. The resort is uniquely positioned at the point where west meets the north, offering spectacular sunset views and the soothing sound of waves breaking over the reef.
The second Divetech location, at Lighthouse Point, offers shore diving along the deep wall, just a five-minute swim from the beach. A rope has been placed along the bottom to guide divers from the mini wall to the deep wall, making navigation easy and allowing divers to focus more on photography or spotting marine life, from green turtles to eagle rays.
Instruction of all levels is available. Divetech has a sea pool spanning 75 feet by 30 feet, offering calm, ideal training conditions. Guests can try scuba for the first time, complete their Open Water checkout dives after finishing the coursework at home, or enroll in technical diving courses. Rebreather support is also available, and guided technical dives can be booked.

From its daily dive charters to the once-a-year Women’s Dive Day festivities, Divetech continues not only to provide exceptional scuba holidays but also to give back as a pillar of the Grand Cayman community, all part of its mission to deliver excellence in everything it does.
